So I promised a longer post yesterday. I guess it's not really that long but it's more important, anyway. :B

I worked for a little over a month for the Census Bureau, verifying addresses (it was actually pretty fun. If only it had lasted just a bit longer. >< ) I'm hoping to get hired on for the next phase, but they're only hiring back 35% of this last phase, so I guess we'll see.

Still haven't heard back from either schools I applied to for grad school, but at this point, it doesn't really matter anymore.

On Friday, me and Av reserved an apartment over in Warren, which is partly between where he works and Wayne State. Even if I don't get in there, there's lots of other community colleges and smaller universities close by, so hopefully I'll be able to do SOMETHING (or work more. Whatever)

And the last bit of news isssssss:

So I'm really lame about the whole telling people what's going on thing.

Here's an update for anyone who doesn't know:

-I finally OFFICIALLY graduated from CMU (even though I'd been done with classes since December, still had to wait on my Independent Research grade).

-I got hired at Mead Johnson in Zeeland as a QA Lab Technician.

-I moved home from Mt. Pleasant.

-Started my job on Tuesday.

-Signed a lease for an apt in Allendale (near GVSU), but can't move in til Aug. so I'm home for 2 months.

So I started on Tuesday and mostly I've been sitting reading operating procedures, for how to use their computer program stuff and how to handle samples and so on. It's really boring and a couple times I had to go back and reread, cuz I was skimming.

Near the end of the week they started teaching me how to do stuff, how to read the labels, etc. There's a lot to remember, but nothing seems too over the top insane yet, it's just getting the hang of it, so I think I can handle it. <3 Getting up so early is painful, though, haha. I kinda miss working nights at Wendys, but I definatly don't miss anything else about working there (except that I knew everyone. There's a whole NEW set of people to meet now!).

Anyway, it's pretty fun so far, and it's nice to know that I'll have money to pay my bills with (yay. >< ) so all in all, I'm pretty content.

Except I can't wait to move out. Dear god, Aug. will not come fast enough.

Oh, and I have a new cell number. If you don't have it already, just ask me for it. =P

Hey, this is cool. Don't tell your CHILD anything related to her family.

So, this is how a conversation that I had with my Aunt (who I barely see, and talk to less. At least, less than my own fam. Or so I thought)

Aunt: So how is your sister dealing with her one friend dying?
Me: Uh. What?
Aunt: Katy. A classmate of hers died in a 4-wheeling accident.
Me: Oh.
Aunt: Your mom didn't tell you?
Me: .....
Aunt: ...Should I tell you about your dad, then?
Me: Yes, please.
Aunt: He has a herniated disc. It's why his back has been hurting him so much.
Me: Oh. His back was hurting?
Aunt: ....Does your mother even TALK to you?
Me: Yes. To tell me how I'm 'recklessly spending' my money.
Aunt: Uh huh....
Me: Yup.

So thanks Mom. Yell at me for how I manage my money (which, by the way, YOU do most of. You know, telling me to send it REALLLY high credit card payments to pay it off, then WHY do you expect me to have money LEFT OVER?) but no, DON'T BOTHER to tell me my darling 8 year old sister is DEALING WITH DEATH, or that my FATHER PROBABLY NEEDS SURGERY. Thanks for letting me hear it from a second source. But HEY, it's better then reading it out of a church prayer intentions book (Oh yea, I've found out family problems THAT way before.)

It's been a pretty fun couple days, both in my real life and my Gaia life (wwooo, I know, kinda lame, but hey, exciting things happen there too!)

Last week, on one of the uber hot days, I went to Ashley's (from Wendy's) apt, cuz she has A/C adn I hung out with her and her roomies. It was pretty fun, and nice to socialize a bit. <3

Friday I went home and worked at the ice cream shop until close. The family was gone all weekend, cuz my dad was doing a golf thingy with my uncles. I tried to let Benny (our collie) hang out inside, because he's mostly an outdoor dog, but he never gets any attention. To my suprise, he was amazingly well behaved and sat next to me and just pestered me to pet him for a bit. He wasn't able to stay in though, because Maggie flipped out and tried to bite his head off (our english setter, she's about 100 lbs lighter then him...). My dad said it was because she's used to the inside being her house, and not sharing it. It's kinda sad.

Anyway, then the next day I opened at the shop and was gone by 6, which is nice, don't have to worry about a ton of people. I worked all day sunday, then drove back monday morning. I know it sounds like I work alot, but I just feel so useless when I'm sitting doing nothing, so working all the time is kinda nice.

I ended up having monday and today off from Wendy's. Kinda sucky, but then a couple days ago, Jen decided to come up to mt p monday and tuesday. So yesterday when she got up here me, her and sara went out shopping (well, I was mostly doing shopping XD). I wanted some nice shirts, cuz I don't really have any and I haven't bought clothes in a while. Then we went up to the casino and watched her play roulette and some guys tried to explain it to me. They were lotsa fun and got our jokes about betting on the number '42'(no, there isn't actually a 42 on the thing, but it woulda been funny). Then the three of us went to Green spot for a bit, then Jake drove us downtown and we met up with Neal and hung out in the Bird and Martys, neither of which are that bad when it's not jam packed. It was pretty nice. We all got pretty buzzed and laughed and talked, about who knows what. XD Lotsa stuff, I guess. Then we all crashed at Sara's. This morning she made us yummy delicious pancakes and we watched some fashion design reality show. Then me and Jen came back to my place, showered and later on the three of us went to Cottage Inn Pizza to eat. After we dropped of Sara, me and Jen went to Neals and watched V for Vendetta, which is a pretty cool movie.

All in all, it was a fun couple days. A nice last hurrah sort of thing, since Jen is leaving on friday for N.Dakota.

Anyway, I got a pretty new artsie from a girl on Gaia I wanted to share. I named it Lazy Gaian Days. The people in it are Me, my sister, my brother and my cousin's avatars.

This isn't the full size, but I don't feel like making it upload right. XD

My week was also freaking awesome because Imbri (no, not ME. My person on Gaia) had her baby on the 2nd. <333 He's the most beautiful bebah ever and he's part naga.

He has Imbri's pretty red hair and his eyes are a litte lighter then hers.

((Seeee?

))

I think that's all, haha. I've been pretty contented these last couple days. I'm tired, but not really worn down.

I also think I'm going to take the week off before school, though, just to do nothing right before classes and crazy working and whatnot, so I can go to the cottage for a bit and MI Adventure with the fam. It'll be nice.

It's been a long week for me (although, I imagine it's been much longer for others). And it hasn't even been a full week yet.

It started Sunday morning with a voicemail from my Aunt. She sounded frantic and confused and the only words I had made out were 'Brian's Kelly,' 'river,' and 'searching'.

I was too scared to call her back.

Later that day my mom called me at work and said the GR Press had an article about my cousin's (Brian) wife (Kelly) having been in a boating accident and being missing.

She called me back a half hour later, saying the body had been found.

Kelly was 35.

We (Me, my Uncle (Brian's father) and my Aunt Lish) spent the rest of the day calling the Bolens.

I didn't know her, really. She came with Brian to Family things, christmas, weddings, family gatherings, so on. They stopped comming to things after they got married, about 4ish years back.

But I have a few memories with her. I've always been one of the babies of the Cousins, there's a 10 year gap between me and the older Cousins. I was always pretty quiet at family stuff, but one Christmas, Kelly sat talking to me for over a half hour, and she was just funny and friendly and a sweet woman.

All week it's been strange, I don't know what to think. It's so surreal, and I worry about Brian. I'm a little worried how he'll handle it.

The funeral was depressing. I didn't know who I felt worse for, Brian, or Kelly's brother (Who was on the boat with her). I didn't talk to Brian at all, I didn't know what to say. What can you say to that?

I feel bad, but I'm secretly relieved that it wasn't a blood relative. I also realized how big of a heart attack I would have had if I had read the article and not know WHICH Kelly it was (We have more then one Kelly in the family). That happened to Kelly Marie, her coworkers thought she was dead. Kelly Patrick called his mom before she watched the news, so she wouldn't freak out. I would have too, if I hadn't been told it was Brian's Kelly.

I'm really just babbling now, my thoughts aren't collected in the least.

It's a horrible tragedy, and I hope that no one else has to experiance something like it.

Kelly Ann Bolen
May 4, 1971 - July 23, 2006

We love you, Kelly, and you will be missed.

Soo...this is only a slightly sober entry. As such, forgive any typos I miss. XD

Actually I'm not that bad off, just a little woooooo, you know? I asked Heather if I could catch a ride with her and Craig, cuz I totally didn't feel like driving. First we went to Pat and Missy's and hung around there for a couple hours. It was pretty fun, me and Craig and Heather and Angelo and Pat played cards for a while. I learned a couple new games, but I probably won't remember them again. Angelo bought me a cup for the keg, cuz I be poor, yo. XD And he was like 'late birthday present'. I wish I could have abused it more. We didn't stay for much longer after that. As we were finishing up with a game, Meggan and her bf (Wes, I think) got there, then we all went over to Jessie's party and I saw Mindi there. Mostly I hid in a back room and talked to Meggan and Wes and Angelo. Heather was pretty crazy, she was dancing and stuff (and got a dollar. It was funny). I think Craig was tired/annoyed, and i felt kinda bad. Then we were heading out from Jessie's and Meggan was like 'you guys don't wanna gooooo!'

So then 'Lo was like, 'who's driving?' and Craig said he was (cuz he wasn't drunk at alllll, even though he had drank more then me. XD Durn tolerance level. Beer kills me. >< ) And 'Lo was asking if he was ok, and Craig said yeah. Me and Heather were out the door by then, but as Craig was leaving, I heard 'Lo go 'You better be careful and take care of those two girls.'

Awww. =D It made me happy.

Then we went back to Pat and Missy's to say bye, then had to convince Mark to get in the car and Craig drove him to his house, then dropped me off, then he and Heather left.

It was a pretty fun night. <3

Today I was put on Drive-Thru at Wendy's (Oh yeah, got a second job...I think I forgot to mention that). OMG, SOOOOO much easier. First, you don't have the evil bitchy people watching you make the stuff. Second, you have a headset so you can hear what they're ordering and can start making it before it even appears on the board.

Some lady came through and ordered chicken nuggets and chili and the girl running the register goes 'do you want any dipping sauce?' and there was a pause and the lady goes 'for the CHILI?' The girl looks back and me and Dawn and mouths 'what the fuck?' then goes "Um, no...for the nuggets."

The headsets allow you to either talk to the customer or just from set to set. They didn't tell me which button was which, so at the end of my shift I asked dawn, and she pointed to the one with a 'A' and goes 'That one's for assholes,' then pointed to the button labled 'B' 'And that one's for Buddies.'

Awweesooomee. I wanna do Drive-Thru all the time.

A few things I gotta cover in this update:

FUNNIEST SIGHT. EVER.

I have no idea what was going on, but in a beat up blue car behind me, some mid-20's guy with (no, not joking) a priest's collar and outfit on, was like, jamming out to whatever he was listening to. Looked like some form of rock. I mean, he was doing drum solos, singing. It was hilarious!

THE TRACFONE IS NOT A TOY.

Let me STRESS that my phone is not for you to call me and leave a FREAKING FIVE MINUTE LONG MESSAGE because you passed by the Mount Pleasant exit. I. DON'T. CARE. You're wasting my minutes, that are pretty fucking expensive and you're pissing me off.

Do NOT leave me useless messages, ANYONE. If you need something, call and leave a message. Please don't abuse my phone.

HYPOCRITES.

Oh yes, the fun one. We alll know one. I happen to be the daughter of one of the biggest ones in Michigan. ><

Example:
Harry Potter is baaaaad because it's made up/had magic/whatever her excuses have been.

SHE however, has gotten quite into Stargate SG-1.

W.T.F.???

Yeeaahh, cuz that's SOOOO much more realistic then Harry Potter.

Also, my stupid sister actually ASKED Mom to take her to DaVinci Code. :Insert hystarical laughter here: Ok, that was her own fault for asking something so dumb. But, in her defense, she didn't realize what she was asking. And OF COURSE it wasn't explained to her (until I did).

I read the book. Kerri wants to see the movie. If you don't know, this book/movie is very...ah...anti-christian. To say the least.

But that doesn't mean we BELIEVE IT FOR FACT. Good God. It's a bloody work of FICTION. For entertainment purposes only. It's a fun idea to entertain, but other then that I know it's probably not real. And my sister is very clever. She knows too.

So, what? Because you have a freaking PHD, you can OBVIOUSLY decipher fact from fiction sooo much better then us?

Also. Stop acting so arrogent that I'm in debt from college. SO WERE YOU NOT 10 YEARS AGO.

So shove it.

I think that's all for the day.
